Check Attala 24-Hour Releases

An Attala County 24 hour release list should identify people released in the last 24 hours, not people arrested during that span. No verified official rolling list is published online for Attala County or its present physical custodian. A useful same-day check therefore starts with a precise time window and follows the record across county lines. Attala County keeps the local arrest and jail-docket trail, while Leake County may hold the booking and gate transaction. Recent status tools can add a clue, but the agency’s dated exit entry provides the strongest release confirmation.

Attala 24-Hour Release Reality

The official-source review dated July 26, 2026 found no official Attala County rolling 24-hour release URL. The Attala County Sheriff page has no current roster link, released tab, booking tiles, release-date field, update schedule, or online retention window. A separate official Leake County 24-hour release URL was not verified either. Those are bounded findings about public web access. They do not mean either agency lacks an internal jail docket or booking system.

Do not substitute a recent-arrest page. Arrest time and release time measure different events. Someone booked today may remain confined. Someone released today may have entered custody weeks or months ago. Search-engine pages that advertise an “Attala County Jail roster” may also point to an obsolete facility, since the former Kosciusko jail closed in 2016 and current Attala detainees are ordinarily housed in Leake County.

Important: No live feed means the honest 24-hour list is a timestamp-bounded records product, not a copied current-custody roster.

Build Attala 24-Hour Release List

Define the period first. Use Central Time, because Mississippi records are created in that zone. A calendar-day request can run from 12:00 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. A rolling request should state its exact start and end date and time. Ask whether the result includes only Attala legal-custody entries or every exit from the Leake facility. That scope determines who appears.

  1. Collect the date range, full booked name if checking a person, and any booking or case number.
  2. Call the Attala Sheriff at 662-289-5556 to identify the arresting agency, custody location, and Attala jail-docket entry.
  3. When Leake held the person, call the Leake County Correctional Facility at 601-298-9003 and ask for the physical exit record.
  4. Request existing release or transfer entries for the exact 24-hour span, including timestamps, codes, and destinations.
  5. Ask for the code definition and whether transfers are mixed with community releases.
  6. Record when the export was generated and whether late corrections can change it.

A request can seek “entries for Attala County detainees released or transferred from [start] through [end], including booking number, release timestamp, release code or reason, destination, and booking photograph where public.” Ask for an itemized estimate and do not demand that staff create a new report if no such report exists.

For a search focused on one name rather than everyone who left during the window, use the full verification path on the Attala County released inmates home page.

Attala 24-Hour Release Fields

Because no public feed was verified, no online field set can be promised. The table lists the existing record fields worth requesting from the agency. These fields make a same-day list auditable and help separate a gate release from a transfer. Some information can be withheld or redacted under law, including protected youth, medical, victim, security, investigative, sealed, or expunged material.

Requested fieldWhy it matters
Full name and identifierDistinguishes people with the same or similar names.
Booking numberJoins the exit to the correct booking episode.
Release date and timeDetermines whether the event falls inside the chosen 24-hour window.
Release code and definitionShows bond, court release, time served, completion, transfer, or another event in the custodian’s terms.
Physical custodianIdentifies which agency processed the gate transaction.
Destination or receiving agencySeparates a community release from movement to MDOC, another county, federal custody, or immigration custody.
Hold status at exitShows whether another authority affected the person’s movement.

The list should also state its generation time and zone. If a source gives only a date, do not invent a time. Preserve conflicting source timestamps and ask the agency whether one reflects later data entry.

Attala Releases Leave Through Leake

Attala County has no current local jail gate to visit. The former county jail in Kosciusko closed for safety reasons in 2016, and state legislation later authorized the Attala and Leake boards to maintain their interlocal detention arrangement. A person arrested on an Attala matter may therefore leave physical custody from Carthage. Property pickup, exit processing, and travel questions belong first with the actual custodian.

The official MDOC Leake facility listing identifies that physical custody point. The image below shows the government facility page used to confirm the address and contact route.

Leake physical custodian for Attala County 24-hour releases

The listing establishes the facility route, but it does not publish release hours, a family waiting area, a fixed exit door, weekend processing rules, or a 24-hour release feed.

Leake County Correctional Facility
399 C.O. Brooks Street
Carthage, MS 39051
Phone: 601-298-9003

Call before travel. Ask where the person’s property and exit are processed, and do not assume a court order fixes the exact gate time.

Attala Roster Traps and Release Logs

The official Attala site publishes neither a current custody roster nor a recent-release archive, and it states no web retention period. That absence makes stale roster cards especially risky. A page may reuse the former Attala County Jail name without proving a current link to the Sheriff or the Leake booking system. It may also present recent bookings as if they were releases. Neither is a sound substitute for an agency entry.

Ask Attala for the jail-docket entry, arrest or booking material, transfer destination, and any release authorization it holds. Ask Leake for the physical booking and exit transaction. If Leake reports “released to Attala,” request the receiving authority and code definition because the phrase may describe an agency transfer rather than entry into the community.

A current roster only addresses who is in custody at the moment it was made. Historical docket and release-log entries preserve transactions. For a 24-hour list, request the narrow period and both kinds of exit: community release and transfer. Then report them as separate categories.

Note: A name vanishing from any roster is only a clue; it never supplies the release time, legal reason, or destination.

Verify Attala Release Versus Transfer

A county system can use “released” as a broad exit label even when the person moved directly into another agency’s custody. Bond, recognizance, dismissal, time served, sentence completion, or a court order can lead to community release. A destination of MDOC, another county, the U.S. Marshals Service, or ICE signals a transfer instead. The release code and destination must be read together.

Bond or court releaseMatch the Attala court order to Leake’s exit time.
Time served or completionCompare the judgment, recognized custody time, and custody exit.
Transferred to MDOCUse the MDOC inmate search; this is not community release.
Transferred to another agencyRecord the receiving agency exactly and continue there.
Still shown in custodyCheck the update time and ask the physical custodian about processing.

A court disposition explains the authority. The jail transaction establishes the physical event. Differences of a few hours may reflect order delivery, holds, transport, or later data entry and should be preserved rather than silently merged.

Confirm Attala Release Across Systems

VINELink and Mississippi’s MS SAVIN can help with a specific person. Search the appropriate participating agency, match identifiers, and read the reporting agency and status together. A release alert is timely evidence derived from the agency feed, not a substitute for the source exit record. If the person moved from Leake county custody into MDOC, the registration may be carried to the state record through MS SAVIN’s Registration Link feature.

The MDOC inmate search is for state custody and sentence data. It does not cover every Attala person who bonded out of Leake and never entered the prison system. A current MDOC location means the person remains in state custody, while a tentative release date is only a projection. Court records through the Attala clerk can show the bond order, dismissal, sentence, recognized custody time, probation, or revocation, but they may not show the precise exit minute.

For a wider three-day interval, the Attala County 72-Hour Releases page explains how to request a multi-day log and handle weekends. Each channel has a narrow role. The best same-day confirmation joins Leake’s physical exit record to the Attala court or jail-docket record and, when state custody applies, the MDOC or MS SAVIN status.
